MHI Builds Geothermal Power Plant in Mexico

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and its partner Mitsubishi Corporation have received a turnkey contract from Comision Federal de Electricidad of Mexico to build a 50 megawatt geothermal power plant.?

The Los Azufres III power station is located in Michoacan, about 250 kilometers west of Mexico City. MHI will be responsible for engineering, manufacture, procurement and installation of major components, including the steam turbine, as well as civil engineering work. The generator will be supplied by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation.

MHI has delivered five geothermal power plants to the Los Azufres power station and six units to CFE's Cerro Prieto power station.

Los Azufres III will be completed in December 2014.?
